Description:
This is a very special typewriter, a 1942 Hermes Baby owned by a Lt. H.C. Morris of the US Army during WWII. Lt Morris was stationed in France after the Allied invasion. This machine might have seen action ! It was given to me for repair by a close friend of mine, it needed a new draw band installed, and the machine is now on indefinite loan to me. The vibe of it is intense and moving.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Baby on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Baby By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
