Description:
This typewriter is minimalist: there is no margin release; no right margin, only a bell trip; no line lock; no tension adjustment; no bicolor ribbon mechanism; carriage release lever only on the right. Vertical adjustment is achieved by bending metal tabs instead of the usual, more sophisticated method of turning screws.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal Varsity on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal Varsity By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
