1940 SIM Oliver Serial # 136984 1940 SIM Oliver typewriter, Serial # 136984 Milan Berta's 1940 SIM Oliver typewriter. 2024-05-06 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Milan Berta: 1940 SIM Oliver Serial # 136984 Oliver Portable (SIM Model 6)
The Czech seller of typewriters, Mr. Chochola, sold mainly Hermes typewriters, but also these Italian Olivers.
PRODOTO IN ITALIA - I have only seen this sticker from the backplate on a few Everest typewriters. Is it really some kind of fascist propaganda, as Massimo Martelancz wrote when describing his typewriter model to NOVALEVI? Does anyone know what the numbers mean? 119 (Everest) and 437 (or A.437, SIM OLIVER). Were there any special years in the history of the Roman Empire or Italy? I only learned about the years 395 and 487. By the way, the machine is a little slow, but fully functional. Typing would wake him up.

Historical typewriters, cameras, sewing machines, ... - all beautiful things, that work only on the basis of human skill and ability. Therefore, they deserve our attention and respect. I do not want to let those inventions that pushed us forward much faster than we were prepared, them disappear in this way.

Lives in Michalovce, Slovakia. Proud father of two children. Started collecting in March 2020. More a hunter than a collector or restorer. But determined to change it and bring the machines to a new life. Thank you in advance for any of your advice and help. (English is not my strong side, so I use Uncle Google's help. Correct me anytime).

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the SIM Oliver on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the SIM Serial Number page and the SIM Oliver By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
