Description:
This WWII German military service typewriter was found on a farm near Skrunda in Latvia, which was inside the Kurland pocket at the end
of the war. It was left behind there when the Germans finally surrendered in May 1945. This typewriter was used and used hard. The
typebar cover has been replaced with a homemade piece of crudely cut sheet metal and the carriage release lever has been replaced with a
keytop from a Soviet typewriter. The field-gray paint is extremely worn, the frame is cracked, and it is covered with grime but despite all this it can still type. I don't intend to clean or repair this in any way, it s loaded with character and I like it the way it is.
