Hello, my fiance and I are a young couple with 2 little boys. We are from the Dayton, Ohio area. We bought our first Royal typewriter from someone on OfferUp for inexpensive because it "didn't" work. After getting it home and giving the internals a little cleaning it worked perfectly. This one typewriter has created an addiction. We now own 10 Royal typewriters. Our oldest is a 1912 Model 5 and I'm not certain which of our portables is our newest. We have also gotten several friends and family members into typewriters of various brands as well.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the L.C. Smith Super Speed on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the L.C. Smith Serial Number page and the L.C. Smith Super Speed By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
