1940 Corona Junior Serial # 1F30652JS 1940 Corona Junior typewriter, Serial # 1F30652JS Mighty Jabba's 1940 Corona Junior typewriter. 2023-06-13 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Mighty Jabba: 1940 Corona Junior Serial # 1F30652JS Like the Royal Junior, the Corona Junior was a bit of a stripped down, budget machine, so it lacks niceties like tabs, different ribbon colors, a right margin setting or a bell. However, this particular example from 1940 is the "Model S" that did include a backspace (fancy!). This one was in pretty decent shape when I got it, so I just had to clean it a bit and give it a polish. It had an Allen wrench taped to the side of it for some reason. I don't think there are any screws on this machine that it could work on, but in any case I removed it and did my best to remove the traces of the ancient electrical tape.

Probably the most interesting thing about this machine is the ribbon covers, which are really just metal rings that leave the top of the spool exposed. One of my spools is nice and shiny black while the other is a different style and corroded.

I'm relatively new to typewriter collecting, but am rapidly making up for lost time...
