Description:
This now shiny Japy was a clear case for an overhaul. Besides thorough dusting and cleaning it has received new paperrollers and feet.
According to Georg Sommeregger, the Japy serialnumbers startet at 50.000. So this must be the 135th that had bin build by Hermes for Japy.
(Despite the very first ones that fit into the Hermes2000 number chronology, as G.S. discribes it in his Blog about the early collaboration between Hermes and Japy)
Interesstingly it has no AZERTY but a QWERTZ layout, that seems in comparisson to the obvious changes to be the original, unaltered layout.
The square-, mĀ²-,mĀ³-type indicate a specific use of this Typewriter.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Japy 50 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Japy Serial Number page and the Japy 50 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
