Description:
Vintage store find in nice barely used condition. The case lock was rusty and the mainspring required tightening. I really like the streamline look of this typewriter. Very nice keyboard action with pica typeface, one of my favorites.

Retired newspaper production manager. Typed thousands of pages advertising copy to be sent to typesetters on a Underwood Standard during the 1970's. Enjoy everything analog after many years living in the digital world. Purchased my first manual typewriter (Smith Corona Classic 12) nine months ago. Since then I have picked a few nice typewriters. I feel I am more a user than a collector.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Smith Corona Standard on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Smith Corona Serial Number page and the Smith Corona Standard By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
