Description:
I'm pretty confident about the 1939 date on this machine even though we don't have records of serial numbers starting with V. See the link to Shannon Johnson's explanation of the Corona Four serial numbering system.
Beautiful, sturdy little typewriter but manifestly inferior to the new basket-shift models. It's surprising how long the Corona 3 and Four were manufactured.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Corona 4 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Corona Serial Number page and the Corona 4 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
