Description:
Found at a flea market.
After cleaning this machine up I am under the impression that it has been heavily used in its time. Some screws have been replaced with miss-matched ones, the all tab stop clearing lever is missing, and there are a couple missing screws from the side panels.
I didn’t think the right hand return lever and wrinkle finish paint were unusual until I started looking at fellow typewriter hunters’ galleries and noticed that most of these typewriters from the late 1930s have left hand return levers and gloss paint. The back to panels are still gloss, so I’m unsure if this machine was rebuilt and repainted or was always in wrinkle finish.
The typewriter is working, but still needs some more cleaning and adjusting.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the L.C. Smith Super-Speed on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the L.C. Smith Serial Number page and the L.C.
