Description:
This is quite an unusual typewriter from the classic Media series ; the M (= Military) letter in the serial code shows this is a typing machine made for the Swiss army, with its steel sheet case which may sometimes have unit markings stamped inside. It also has a Swiss-French keyboard, less common than Swiss-German ones. I really like this typewriter, as this is a simple, robust, rustic yet elegant and reliable typing machine.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Media on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Media By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
