Description:
I love this machine cause of its simplicity, while it appeares to be more sturdy than the later Baby designs. It also has a crisp touch and the bell makes a bright "pling". The worn blueish grey, that is partially worn to the tin surface, adds to my fascination. For me it relates somehow to the look of the first Citroen 2cv.
When I cleaned it I came to one mayor and importand conclusion, if you intend to the same and to remove therefore the platen and paper tray... donĀ“t do it! ItĀ“s was very difficult to put the underliing springs of the tray back into position. I solved it with a small pouch of hot glue, that I filled into an empty plastic hull of a pill, were I sticked the tensioned spring into, and fidled it back to its guide rod again. Real breath taking, but simplicity can also takes itĀ“s toll sometimes.
