Description:
This typewriter was used by a journalist from the "Haagsche Courant". She bought it in the 60s and took well care of it.
This version of the Baby is equipped with a surprisingly elegant shift lock mechanism. Depress the right shift key and slide it to the right. Voila.

I live in The Netherlands.
Most common typewriter brands over here are Triumph/Adler, Olympia, Erika, Olivetti, Remington and Brother.
I collect and restore typewriters to learn about their design and to write with them.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Hermes Baby on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Hermes Serial Number page and the Hermes Baby By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
