Description:
Erika with 'Rotterdam' Dutch keyboard. There was also an 'Amsterdam' variant.
This typewriter was kept for decades on the attic of an office supply store. Damaged screw heads and missing screws indicate someone has worked on the machine. Without succes, the carriage was not advancing when pressing certain keys. Maybe the machine was kept as a parts machine? At the bottom some pictures from the machine right after delivery.
The typewriter is now fully functional and the ribbon spools are the original ones that came with the machine.

I live in The Netherlands.
Most common typewriter brands over here are Triumph/Adler, Olympia, Erika, Olivetti, Remington and Brother.
I collect and restore typewriters to learn about their design and to write with them.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Erika S on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Erika Serial Number page and the Erika S By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
