Description:
This was my first typewriter. It is abnormally clean given that it was without a case when I picked it up, but it's now on it's second case.
The first case I got for it was a gift from Mark, and has been mated with another Underwood Universal of a similar vintage (a little older than this one). The second case I got for it is the case it lives in now, and was a gift from Katie.
A bit more on the case; it has a set of tripod legs built in that fold out to elevate the typewriter and have a side table. Per Robert Messenger, these are incredibly rare (he mentioned only knowing of less than a handful in existence).
With Table Case

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood Universal on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood Universal By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
