1937 Royal KHM Serial # 2113407 1937 Royal KHM typewriter, Serial # 2113407 Benjamin Smith's 1937 Royal KHM typewriter. 2024-05-28 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Benjamin Smith: 1937 Royal KHM Serial # 2113407 Typewriter discovered in poor cosmetic condition and keys with poor linkage. Contained cockroach eggs (with dust layers, considered to be from well over 50 years age). After internal cleaning, linkages re-attached, and correcting bend in line spacing lever, it is in good working order. Original spools were missing, however, ribbon reversing mechanism functions when manipulated by hand. Spools on order and better typeface specimen to be included upon arrival. Lots of cleaning to do still, but excited to get typing on it.

Appears to have been painted with textured paint over the original gloss finish. My guess, based on the quality of the textured paint is that it was completed by a professional as few places were left unpainted. Decals exist both on top paint coat and lower paint coat/
