Description:
Given to me by the daughter of the original owner, E. Hutchinson, in Westfield, IN, Summer 2009. Address label found in the pan is from Virginia Beach, VA, and it came with a crumbling cover from United Typewriter Company of Washington, D.C. I believe that this is where Mrs. Hutchinson worked in the 1930s. Carved in the lid: "RKā10-31-39" and "11/26/52 GAR", presumably maintenance men. Nicotine-stained, dusty, and with a bent carriage rail, the owner of Vale-Typewriter in Minneapolis told me it wasn't worth fixing. It took two summers but is now repaired to a functioning state. Given to my neighbor in suburban St. Paul in Summer 2021.
