Description:
A pre-war German machine with a US key layout, that was purchased from the grandson of the original owner. who was liquidating his grandfather's estate.
I've never seen rollers as bad as the original ones on this, even on Remington machines of similar years which are known for having flat feed rollers. It was well worth sending them off to be recoated. As others have said, the rear paper feed roller is decidedly not fun to remove, and even less fun to reinstall. That being said the juice was worth the squeeze, as the machine is now fantastic to use. I'd sought out something Olympia from this era to see if it felt the same as my SM3s from the 50s, and you can tell the design and the engineering was already dialed in.
