Description:
Olivetti has been in my family for decades. This is the typewriter I learned to type on. After many years and hundreds of pages, I decided it was time to renew it.
Its original navy blue color was damaged in many places. Someone tried to correct it using a brush and black paint. The letters on the keys were smudged with grease and barely visible. It couldn't be saved.
I often type on this typewriter while outside. That's why I decided to renew it contrary to the original. I chose the red color (close to the original) and the cream color of the keys.
After cleaning and additional adjustments, the machine writes quite well. Minor adjustments will still be needed. Unfortunately, the lack of documentation makes troubleshooting difficult.

Typewriters were always around me. Some have been with me all my life. Others I saved from being thrown in the trash when the computer age came.
I'm not creating a museum. My typewriters are used. Rarely but regularly. Therefore, the collection is not large, and each machine has a Polish typeface.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Olivetti MP1 Ico on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Olivetti Serial Number page and the Olivetti MP1 Ico By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
