Description:
I bought this typewriter to be a parts donor for my other 1937 L.C. Smith Super-Speed 11 buuuut... it's actually in really great condition and I can't bring myself to do it. So I'm on the hunt for another parts donor (and found a possible) so I can make two beautiful machines out of two nice ones and one crappy one. SIGH. This one will be rehomed when ready to go, though! I don't need to become an L.C. Smith Super-Speed 11 hoarder.
...or do I?
This serial number was so clear compared to my other one! Two first production year Super-Speeds in two days. Weird coincidence.
Came with original metal ribbon spool, but it's exhausted. There are a few arms that are very begrudged to move as well, so the typeface sample will have to wait a little longer.

I am quite new to the typewriter world (first bought 6/2023), but I sort of jumped right in with three typewriters in my first week. I am interested in the mechanics of manual typewriters, as well as have an affinity for cleaning up long-forgotten gems. I'm a Smith-Corona fiend, but any nice typewriter will do!
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the L.C. Smith Super Speed 11 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the L.C. Smith Serial Number page and the L.C. Smith Super Speed 11 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
