This was my great souvenir of England taken back from my first and latest trip there; sure, it wasn't manufactured there but it was sold in that infamous department store.

I started collecting typewriters in 2006, but what started it all was using my mother's Brother Student-Riter XL1 in 2004. The next year I received my grandma's Smith-Corona Silent, which was enough to hold me over for a little while but eventually led to an obsession with manual portable typewriters.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Harrods (Torpedo) 17 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Harrods (Torpedo) Serial Number page and the Harrods (Torpedo) 17 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
