Description:
Continental Wanderer 50 from 1937. SN: R163033.
German font. Single-color ribbon 13mm.
The machine was purchased through an auction portal. Technical condition - difficult... The machine is most likely stored in a hen house...
It required thorough cleaning, removing rust from the mechanisms, maintenance, lubrication and adjustment. Made a new paper pressure roller from heat shrink tube.
All that remains to be done is the varnish on the front cover. There is some rust underneath the paint and the work will definitely result in the need for a repaint.
Mechanically, the machine currently works without any problems. It is very quick to type on and does not require much pressure on the keys.
For me personally, it's a nice machine for everyday work.

I live in Poland. My hobby is restoring analog devices to life. I do all the work, from cleaning, through mechanical repairs, to possible painting, by myself. I learn a lot from it. The love for typewriters began with Hermes 3000, which I received in 2022 from my sister as a gift. And so the collection is slowly growing...
