Description:
Massive typewriter, as "silent" at a silent typewriter can be (that means "not so silent").
Looks like a Tiger tank, and is heavy as one (or so).
No rust at all (usual when you are lucky enough to find a typewriter inside its original wooden box and with the original operative key).
The chrome parts look brand new (that is a statement of german quality eighty years ago).
The keyboard is also the german QWERTZ.
Great find at $120.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Continental Silenta on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Continental Serial Number page and the Continental Silenta By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
