1936 Smith Corona Standard Serial # 1C108461 1936 Smith Corona Standard typewriter, Serial # 1C108461 Kenneth Kruschka's 1936 Smith Corona Standard typewriter. 2022-06-06 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Kenneth Kruschka: 1936 Smith Corona Standard Serial # 1C108461 Mainspring was broke; the escapement rack bent; bell trip arm deformed; wrong tension springs on opposing carriage release sides; the escapement pinion was riding too high, causing pinion and rack to still touch when carriage release was pressed. The front plate wasn't installed correctly, and it had an Underwood ribbon spool jammed on the RH spool post. After all that was repaired she turned into a pretty good typer. Update 6/6/2022- Sold this typewriter to a gentleman from Illionis who's in the funeral and weddings business.
