Description:
A continental standard with a wide carriage. I have no room for it, and I'm afraid quite a lot work will need to go into this one to get it in working order. If anyone is near Wilrijk (Belgium), you can buy it here (7th of July 2021): https://www.troc.com/nl/bureaumaterialen-en-accessoires/schrijfmachine-a3-continental-jaren-30-p11934195984

I fell into the typewriter rabbit hole due to nostalgia: I used to have a massive Olympia SG1 when I was a kid. It formed my typing habits, which is why I am called a "furious typer" by my coworkers. Came across the r/typewriters page on Reddit which rekindled my love for these wonderful machines. Lets just hope I don't start pushing screens off my desk when I reach the end of a line...
I also have a modest Youtube channel where I document the progress of my typewriter journey: https://www.youtube.com/@Slug_Life
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Continental Standard on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Continental Serial Number page and the Continental Standard By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
