1935 Underwood Junior Serial # E782010 1935 Underwood Junior typewriter, Serial # E782010 James Grooms's 1935 Underwood Junior typewriter. 2026-09-01 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of James Grooms: 1935 Underwood Junior Serial # E782010 In response to the tough economy, the Junior model was a late 32 new model with no prefix code. In 34, the portable four banks were split into E (Junior) and G (Champion) models. The E doesn't appear to ever get a "Junior" decal. The early G models don't have a Champion decal, but later ones do.

I think the E model gallery should be tacked onto this Junior gallery.

Typewriters are the perfect blend of using one's technical skills, history and functional purpose. My goal is type tested machines. My interests are not isolated to any one area. For example, I am a big fan of Smith Corona electrics, mid century electrics and all things Royal.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood Junior on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood Junior By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
