Description:
This machine has been in our family for about 50 years. It may have been refurbished by Underwood at some point, I was told the wrinkle paint was often used for a rebuild.

I have owned and used typewriters since I was 12 years old, I bought an Olivetti Lettera 32 from the Sears catalog with money earned unloading a freight truck in the small town I lived in then.
The last machine I bought new was an Adler Tippa with cursive typeface, in 1980.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood 6 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood 6 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
