Lovely typewriter in pretty good condition. Very clean for having been stored unused for some considerable time. Decals are in very good condition. No "Royal Warrant Crest" decal is present, which makes me wonder whether this unit was manufactured just before Imperial Typewriter Co. received its royal warrant under King George V. According to the serial number database, this unit dates from 1935. The range of prefix code letters for 1935 is "S" through "AD," placing this unit ("V") in the earlier part of the year, perhaps April 1935.

I have removed the ribbon spools — as one can see in the main photo. This machine will need new typewriter feet, case feet, and case bumpers. The draw cord has been replaced by a piece of nylon fishing line, which has come loose and wrapped itself around the mainspring and is preventing the space bar from moving the carriage. Sourcing the original path and attachment points of the draw cord is proving to be a challenge. Stay tuned!
