1935 Continental Klein Conti Serial # R 094530 1935 Continental Klein Conti typewriter, Serial # R 094530 Javier Vazquez del Olmo's 1935 Continental Klein Conti typewriter. 2015-12-11 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Javier Vazquez del Olmo: 1935 Continental Klein Conti Serial # R 094530 This is one of the finest surprises I´ve had in months.

I bought it from a seller I already know well, and he told me it didn´t work properly. In fact he suggested me to take the typewriter to a professional because he could not guarantee I would make it work fine. That´s why I got this beautiful machine for 30 €.

Even if I needed to send it to the true masters of typewriter repairing, I wanted this typewriter. I got it, made a quick check and indeed it didn´t work well. Fortunately I have managed to fix everything on my own, and now it works at 100%. I love when this happens, because I know I´m quite clumsy at repairing typewriters.

The good part is that now I can use it as much as I want. Something I enjoy are the battle scars. I´ll leave them all as they are, they bring a lot of character. Even the ribbon is in great condition! How could you resist!

The first typewriter I saw was my grandpa´s Olivetti Linea 98 at the office. It was just a curio for me. Then I was given a Nakajima, which I didn´t use and my grandfather took it from me because it was easier to handle than the bulky Linea 98. Now I own that typewriter, and I started a little collection in Valladolid, Spain. The Nakajima, which is "my" typewriter only returned home in 2017, almost 20 years later, when he wanted a better typewriter.

A collection that started small grew into something bigger, a nuisace for my family and a great source of satisfaction for me.
