Description:
A green Underwood Portable, 1934. It looks well used with wear in the usual places, including well worn chrome on the end of the carriange, and it has three keys that have had their inserts replaced. I'm leaving them like they are. I had no idea that this age of machine came in anything other than black.

I was hooked on typewriters after seeing an interior design program where someone built some great backlit shelves just for their typewriters. It took a good 10 years for it to sink and then I watched California Typewriter documentary, just as a friend bought a typewriter, and my sister started a writing course. The stars aligned and I went down that rabbit hole. I've worked in engineering as a toolmaker so I loved turning my hand to making this using that, and immediately tinkered with the first machines, I was lucky to get mostly working machines but have repaired a few, making spares along the way.
I love the engineering and art in the design, the perfect combination of both in one place. So after collecting for three years now, I have about 30 typewriters, which range from 1923 to 1980. If I could replace pinch rollers Id be happier, but Im happy to do minor repairs for now.
