Description:
First typewriter I've ever purchased. Long Beach Flea Market. Sometime in 12-2024? Don't remember how much I paid, but most likely $80. It was too much, but this is a great display typewriter.
Missing spool caps. Cleaned out the gunk, adjusted the escapement, and did some other adjustments. Polished and waxed the body. G and N still stick and need typebar alignment.

I am relatively new to collecting typewriters, but am a longtime tinkerer with all things metal, wood, and electronic. I am hoping to make typewriter repair and restoration the gentle hobby that carries me into retirement and beyond.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood Champion on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood Champion By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
