Description:
The Underwood 6 was one of the first in my collection. I bought it from a seller in Bear DE who thought it didn't work and had used it as a stage prop. Only paid $15! Someone picked it up for me and imagine my surprise when I discovered that it was in working condition! I had it professionally cleaned by Philly Typewriter. I use this typewriter regularly . According to Philly Typewriter, "Paddy Chayefsky (playwright, May 1954): wrote on an Underwood Standard Model No. 6. Writer of the 1976 film, Network - 'I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take this anymore.'"

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood 6 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood 6 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
