Description:
This came from south London, via a bric-a-brac shop and somewhere in Ireland before that. Having enquired about the name Bryan S Ryan on the paper table, it seems likely to be a service sticker. Current director, Adrienne Prendergast replies, 'Bryan S Ryan was established in 1948. However, we would have been a major supplier of typewriters and service in those years and it is likely that this is a service sticker that we placed on it.'

I'm an opportunistic collector and user. Yep, I have a habit, but I'm in control, OK?
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood Portable 4 Bank on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood Portable 4 Bank By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
