Local purchase. Had two disconnected linkages and other bent linkages, plus the ribbon vibrator was jammed. All easy enough fixes and it was typing smoothly in minutes.
This was a bucket list buy for me after my SIL's Smith-Corona Standard was purchased last year. Very classic look sand a beautiful typer as expected.

First typewriter bought in 6/2023, now at over 30 in my collection with most recorded in the galleries. There's a special place in my heart for Smith-Coronas, blue typewriters, and typewriters from 1964 (my parents' birth year). Prefer manuals to electrics, portables to ultra portables or desktops, but will head home with anything if it's cheap enough and functional/repairable. I've successfully gifted typewriters to two siblings, a best friend, and an in-law. Keeping up with my lifelong tradition of making and repairing by hand. When not typing or working on a typewriter, I'm often reading, gardening (vegetable), preserving harvests (canning, dehydrating, freezing), knitting, sewing, writing letters/short stories, or shooting film photography. I like the slow, analog life.
