Description:
Another sighting from the antique store that I frequent.
I believe the serial number makes it a 1932 Model 5? Not 100% sure.
This was the first time I had ever seen a Woodstock 'in the wild.'
It somewhat worked. You had to hit the spacebar a certain way and sometimes helping the carriage along wouldn't hurt. Probably needed some cleaning. Also, shift was sticky to return.
Unfortunately, it was a whopping $135! This is the same seller as the 1938 Remington Portable I have posted here. Perhaps I could put a deal together for the pair of them at some point?

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Woodstock 5 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Woodstock Serial Number page and the Woodstock 5 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
