Description:
I bought this Fraktur Merz Universal in the usual Merz seizure state: Typebar pivoting comb so zinc rotten, it started to bend in on itself. I had to chisel this thing away from the normally free moving mechanical parts. After that the Machine needed a rigorous soak and pressured air blowout to wash away the previous owners desperate attempts to lubricate the problem away with what I can only assume was pig lard. After replacement of the comb with a custom designed 3D printed part and re-adjustment of several forcefully bent keylever-linkages this wonderful machine finally writes again.
Pretty alive for a corpse. :)
