1932 Continental Klein Conti Serial # R 038435 1932 Continental Klein Conti typewriter, Serial # R 038435 Plante and Doole-Fisher Typewriters's 1932 Continental Klein Conti typewriter. 2019-05-14 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Plante and Doole-Fisher Typewriters: 1932 Continental Klein Conti Serial # R 038435 The portable line of Continental was yet another high-praised product, which an appreciation can be found for. German engineering was really implemented in the design of the Continental portable, and down the the felt-padding on the base of the case, to which the typewriter is mounted, quality and an eye for detail has formed justified durability. It's classic, yet robust mechanical as well as aesthetic design are really befitting with the time that the typewriter was made in. In comparison to the later model 100, this example is rather basic mechanically, lacking features that makes my 1938 example more superior experience wise. However, even the lack of a tabulator or a refined touch-adjustment system do not stir up the sensational typing experience that this model has to offer. Wanderer-Werke might not have been humane on all aspects of their endeavors, but they make one hell of a typewriter.
