Description:
1098. My wife and I picked this up from a local estate sale.
In the article "How to Identify a Royal Typewriter" (link provided) it confirmed by fear that this has been painted at some point (the article states that all of the Royals up to 1950 we black). I actually thought this was a much later and a different model where it was more plausible that it would not be black. It was not until I noticed the single side panels (plastic not glass--and one is cracked) that I realized it was a Royal 10.
Unless I can find some evidence that this was made for the Military or something, to explain why it is the wrong color, then I will likely use it as a parts machine.

I started my collection back in 2017 when I found a 1993 Brother WP-1250, which was very close to the typewriter I owned and used to write letters home while I was stationed in Korea serving in the US Air Force (I later discovered it was most likely the Brother WP-1150, so I picked that up). In 2018, my wife took me to one of the local antique store and I saw an old typewriter that caught my eye. My wife purchased it for me for Christmas (a 1932 Royal 10). My wife and I decided to limit my collection to 5 typewriters, so I need to sell off my surplus.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal 10 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal 10 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
