Chance led me to collect typewriters. When dealing with the deputy mayor of our village, I noticed that he had several old typewriters in black on display in his office. I really liked them as an accessory and that's why I bought some typewriters and got one as a gift. With 10 years to go, thanks to my colleague from Slovakia, Milan Berta, I am beginning to discover information that helps me, for example, to recognise individual typewriter manufacturers. Someday I'd like to learn how to clean and repair typewriters.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the L.C. Smith 8 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the L.C. Smith Serial Number page and the L.C. Smith 8 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
