Description:
Found at a flea market with a 1938 Remington Model 5.
I have been looking for an earlier Underwood four bank portable and couldnāt pass it up. Overall it is in good, well-used condition and really performs well. The print quality is really good, too.
When I first got it home, I was having trouble with the carriage not advancing when it was shifted. I left it alone for about a month before pulling the frame out of the shell, finding it then working fine, and putting it back together. Some of the sound deadening must have been gotten stuck somewhere and that sorted it out.
After that, I really havenāt done anything other than some minor adjustments and install a new ribbon.
I believe this machine has been well cared for mechanically, due to the typewriter shop sticker and key insert on the typewriter.

I started collecting typewriters several years ago and it started with a late 1960s Smith-Corona Sterling portable that I got as a gift.
