Description:
My go-to typewriter for anything more than a page in length. This was the first purchase for which I had done a considerable amount of looking around, as I had been unsure of what I liked at the time. only owning a Royal 10, an Underwood 5, a Remington 10 and a Royal O at the time (Oddly it had been a shock to me when I found the O, as for some reason I hadn't realized typewriters could get smaller than the desktops).
Royals seem to hold up well with their old age, and this machine is yet another example of that. It functions flawlessly save for the tab, which tends to launch the carriage at Mach 2.
I would rate the Royal Model P's as among the best machines out there.

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
