Description:
This model P has a very strange serial number that starts with an "R" prefix. It also seems to go past the point where Royal changed over to the "gullwing" style, at #188300, yet this has the original body design. Does that make this a model R?
This machine was found in a junkyard where it had been sitting for quite a while. It was conpletely locked up when I got it, but after some hours of work it types (begrudgingly).

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
