Description:
A rare Triumph 12 typewriter, telegraph version WLT36. This model was built only for the German Reichspost. According to TWDB, a model from around 1925-27. However, the serial number suggests 1948/49. Perhaps a late factory overhaul: Many were refurbished and professionally repainted (instead of service gray) to be sold secondhand after being decommissioned by the Reichspost.
Telegram typeface is bold and clear. Therefore, only Gothic capital letters and no umlauts are used. The font is AR 324 by Ransmeyer and Rodian with character spacing 3.2 mm, which corresponds to 8.5 CPI.
