192X Oliver (Fortuna) Four Bank Serial # 42668 192X Oliver (Fortuna) Four Bank typewriter, Serial # 42668 Milan Berta's 192X Oliver (Fortuna) Four Bank typewriter. 2023-12-29 From the Virtual Typewriter Collection of Milan Berta: 192X Oliver (Fortuna) Four Bank Serial # 42668 I found very little information and no pictures of this typewriter. However, it looks identical to the Fortuna or Stolzenberg-Fortuna Model 4 typewriter (I saw 2 different versions of this model in the pictures). I think the manufacturer of this typewriter is J.P. Sauer & Sohn, Suhl, Germany, the oldest German hunting rifle manufacturer. I found their logo (I think) next to the serial number on the typewriter. And on their website I found information about the manufacture of Fortuna typewriters since 1921.

The low serial number does not match sources that state the Oliver Four Bank typewriter has serial numbers from 50000 and up.
The typewriter has a damaged rail, several buttons have been replaced, the ribbon moving mechanism does not work, and there are visible rust places. It was almost completely repainted, but the decals remained original. It is very easy to remove the carriage. Czech keyboard.
Thanks in advance for any information on this interesting typewriter.

Historical typewriters, cameras, sewing machines, ... - all beautiful things, that work only on the basis of human skill and ability. Therefore, they deserve our attention and respect. I do not want to let those inventions that pushed us forward much faster than we were prepared, them disappear in this way.

Lives in Michalovce, Slovakia. Proud father of two children. Started collecting in March 2020. More a hunter than a collector or restorer. But determined to change it and bring the machines to a new life. Thank you in advance for any of your advice and help. (English is not my strong side, so I use Uncle Google's help. Correct me anytime).
