Description:
This machine belongs to my mother in Seaside, OR. She bought it from a thrift store here a few years ago (2018?) who wanted $150 for it. She managed to talk them down, but not by too much. She had it serviced and keeps it stored in a glass cabinet.

I’m a mother, writer, editor, cosplayer, knitter, martial artist, reader, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, granddaughter, poet, black sheep, college graduate, artist, gamer, big damn browncoat, and typewriter tinkerer. There's little more satisfying than finding a typewriter in bad shape and bringing her back to life.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Underwood 5 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Underwood Serial Number page and the Underwood 5 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
