I love vintage items. Used to collect some vintage stuff and when I saw a vintage Underwood Model 5 on a local ad I bought it out of curiosity. It is not fully working and dirty but after cleaning and tinkering I managed to make it work. I am fascinated on how all the internal mechanism works so I bought different brands to compare and got hooked into it. I have now a small typewriter collection and will continue to hunt for more.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
