Description:
This 1929 Royal Model P has green "lizard skin" crack paint that looks very unique compared to all of the black glossy machines in my collection. Unfortunately it came to me without a case.
One of the grub screws holding on the rod that goes inside the platen has a broken head, so I can’t remove the platen to replace the dry and cracked rubber rollers inside, which means that the carriage doesn’t advance reliably. You can still type on it if you help it along each time you need to make a carriage return, but it’s not really usable for serious typing. Hopefully someday I will figure out how to fix it.

I'm relatively new to typewriter collecting, but am rapidly making up for lost time...
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
