Description:
QWERTY. Elite Typeface. Duotone Orange. Laminated black and yellow cardboard keys.
Better pictures to come soon.
Complete with case.
I bought this machine, thereby making it my duty to bring it back into working order. This machine was mistreated at some point as some of it's life. The ribbon advance gears had mangled teeth and the ribbon color selector would hang up when switching between case and color. It did come with the original case, though, the Royal logo it quite faint.
After some new rubber, metal forming, cleaning, polishing, waxing, and aligning it looks and types great. I'm quite please with how it turned out. I love the Typewriter Exchange Miami logo. The cardboard keys make it extremely comfortable to type on for an extended period of time.
A good friend has helped me capture the sounds of this machine for a project that we're working on.
Royal Model Ps, both first and second generation machines, have to be my favorite typers.

I work with modern technology during the week while repairing and rejuvenating antiquated technology on the weekend! I'm a small time collector that's more interested in servicing and repairing typewriters than collecting them.
RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Royal P on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Royal Serial Number page and the Royal P By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
