Description:
A gift from my darling mother. A few idosyncracies, but will I work as well at 96?
Missing spools and spool covers. I fitted some standard plastic ribbon spools by reaming out the center hole a bit with a rotary tool. They fit snugly and it seems entirely functional.
The space bar is broken (not by me!) but repaired pretty well (not by me either!) Someone electrical-taped a square wooden dowel to the underside as a splint.
The case is missing the button on the latch that makes it latch.
The carriage return lever doesn't stay upright, so I ziptied it, which is functional but also forces me into double-space lines. I think there might be a missing bracket or spring here, but it's less of a problem than it sounds like.
It requires a pretty firm hand to type well, but that probably suits some folk.
