Description:
A rebranded Torpedo 6. Take a close look at the pictures. The black enamel is unblemished (it reflects the typewriter keys). German technical perfection at its best. Even the rubber feet look like new in this barn find typewriter (just blow the dust, no more than this simple task, and it was as ready to the photo session as Veroushka in Blow Up).
There are four carriage sizes available, and is clearly shown in the decals how to displace the carriage (to extreme lefthand side to replace the carriage to 17 1/2 and 24 1/2 carriages; to extreme righthand side to replace with 9 1/2 and 12 carriages).
The typewriter is basket shift, incredibly light to change to capitol letters and symbols.
There is nearly zero information about this typewriter in the www. Just a note in Mr. Robert Messenger wonderful webpage (and about Unitype portables, no full size Unitypes like this one).

RESEARCH NOTE: When researching the Unitype 6 on a computer with lots of screen real estate, you may find that launching the Unitype Serial Number page and the Unitype 6 By Model/Year/Serial page in new browser windows can give you interesting perspectives on changes throughout the model series.
